The Organizing Committee for the 2034 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games has announced a series of organizational changes as it evolves toward the Games. The updates, confirmed by the Organizing Committee Board at its June 16, 2026, virtual meeting, include new leadership appointments and staff transitions.
Abby Osborne has been named vice president of impact, engagement, and enterprise operations for the Utah 2034 Organizing Committee. Joining the team on August 1, 2026, Osborne previously served as chief of staff for the Utah House of Representatives since 2019. In her new role, she will oversee sustainability, impact, and legacy initiatives, alongside communications, community relations, and enterprise operations.
Darren Hughes has transitioned from his role as vice president of operations and planning to become the vice president of games delivery. Hughes has worked on over 20 major international events, including every Winter Games since 2002.
Additionally, two-time Olympic short track speed skater Julie Letai has been appointed to the new role of athlete experience coordinator. A graduate of the University of Utah, Letai will use her background as an Olympian to support planning and ensure athlete engagement.
As part of the committee's evolution, Catherine Raney Norman is concluding her tenure as Vice President of Development and Athlete Relations. CEO Brad Wilson expressed gratitude for her leadership during the bid process and her work establishing the Podium34 philanthropic program.
Wilson stated that the organization is continually evaluating its structure to best support the preparation for the 2034 Winter Games, noting that the new leaders will play vital roles in building both culture and capability as the organization grows.
