Revere Health provides specialized diagnostic and treatment services for sleep disorders through its dedicated centers in St. George and Lehi. Led by board-certified sleep medicine specialist John Staheli, MD, these facilities offer a variety of clinical assessments and therapies designed to help patients achieve healthier sleep patterns.
St. George Clinical Services
The Southern Utah Sleep Disorders Center, located at 736 South 900 East, #203, in St. George, operates Monday through Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The center is staffed by Dr. John Staheli and a team of advanced practice providers, including Physician Assistant Monique Hathaway. This location focuses on evaluating individual patient situations to facilitate healthier sleep outcomes through professional medical consultation.
Accredited Care in Lehi
In Lehi, the Lehi Sleep Lab operates out of the Dry Creek Medical Center, located at 3300 N Running Creek Way Bldg. B, Suite #100. This facility maintains Monday through Friday operating hours from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Under the direction of Dr. John Staheli, the Lehi center is an accredited sleep center that adheres to the guidelines established by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM). The Lehi clinical team includes Nurse Practitioner Judd Hunter.
Diagnostic Testing Methods
Both Revere Health locations offer a comprehensive suite of diagnostic tests to identify various sleep disorders. Polysomnograms are utilized to record essential physiological data, including brain waves, oxygen levels, heart rate, and breathing patterns. These studies are available for adults and children age 3 or older and include baseline, split-night, and titration studies. Additionally, clinicians may use overnight oximetry, which employs a finger clip during the night to provide data for diagnosing sleep issues.
Therapy and Desensitization
To accommodate patient comfort and convenience, the centers provide home sleep studies, which allow for polysomnography to be conducted in a familiar setting. For patients experiencing anxiety regarding the start of Positive Airway Pressure (PAP) therapy, the facilities offer PAP Naps. These are daytime sleep studies designed to help patients desensitize to the therapy. The centers also provide Positive Airway Pressure Therapy, a method that uses pressurized air to keep the airway open for those with sleep apnea.
Behavioral and Support Services
Beyond physical testing, Revere Health provides behavioral and supportive services to address sleep health. This includes insomnia counseling, a structured program intended to help patients identify and replace the thoughts and behaviors that contribute to sleep problems. For patients using CPAP machines, the centers offer a monthly CPAP support group. This group provides personalized support for compliance, including strategies for coping with the device and assistance with mask fitting.
Advanced Clinical Evaluations
The centers also utilize the Multiple Sleep Latency Test (MWT) to measure how alert a patient remains during the day and their ability to stay awake in environments free of stimulation. This diagnostic tool assists in a comprehensive evaluation of a patient's sleep-wake cycle. By combining these physiological tests with behavioral counseling, the providers aim to address the multifaceted nature of sleep disorders.
A Shift to Value-Based Care
Revere Health has transitioned its clinical approach toward a value-based care model. Unlike the traditional fee-for-service model, where providers are compensated based on the number of procedures or patients seen, value-based care focuses on the provider's ability to improve health outcomes, increase patient satisfaction, and reduce costs. The organization stated that this shift is a response to the unsustainable rate of rising healthcare costs, expressing a responsibility to lower the cost of care while maintaining high quality.
