A new wildfire known as the East Promontory Fire is currently burning in Box Elder County, located about 18 miles south of Howell.
According to a post from Utah Fire Info on Monday afternoon, the fire is estimated at over 50 acres and is wind-driven.
Air and ground resources are responding to the incident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Authorities have requested that people avoid the area to allow firefighters and emergency personnel enough room to work.
