The Thompson Special Service Water District has announced a monthly meeting and public hearing scheduled for Sept. 9, 2026, according to a Sept. 7 notice. The meeting is set to take place at the Thompson Springs Firehouse located at 101 Firehouse Lane in Thompson Springs, Utah.
The meeting, which is scheduled to run from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., will feature a public hearing regarding the Old Spring Site/Water Study Project. This portion of the meeting includes a presentation on a CIB planning grant requiring a 50% match, featuring Parker Vercimak and Koy Barton of Jones & DeMille Engineering via telephone. The public will have an opportunity to speak during this session.
Additional agenda items for the monthly meeting include the approval of minutes from the Aug. 12, 2026, meeting and discussion regarding the Old Spring Site Redevelopment. The board will also consider confirming or changing the date for the Oct. 14, 2026, monthly meeting.
The agenda also includes updates from Chairman Les Thayn regarding quotes for repainting the exterior school house and various services at the collection area, such as mowing and spreading crushed concrete. Bill Winfield will provide a Grand County Commission update, and Ryan Bell will provide a water operator update. Shelly Thayn will deliver a secretary report covering revenues, expenditures, and other administrative items.
