SunTran has launched a new public transit route known as the Zion Route to connect St. George to Zion National Park. According to information on the St. George city website, the 42-mile route is intended to provide a convenient and affordable travel option while working to reduce traffic congestion.
The route includes stops in St. George, Washington, Hurricane, La Verkin, Virgin, and Springdale. Buses operate Monday through Saturday between 5:40 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
Fares for the service are $5 for a one-way trip, and an unlimited monthly pass is available for $100. For commuters traveling five days a week, the monthly pass can reduce the cost to approximately $2.50 per ride. Payments are accepted on the bus via cash, credit card, or Venmo.
Passengers are encouraged to arrive at stops at least five minutes before the scheduled time. The city noted that schedules may fluctuate by a minute or two due to traffic conditions.
There is no bus service provided on Sundays or on specified holidays. Riders can find more information regarding schedules and fares through the city's transit resources.
