The City of St. George Water Services reported that its water system violated a drinking water monitoring requirement over the past year. According to a notice on the city's website, the violations did not involve a health standard exceedance and did not affect the quality of the water.
The city stated that customers have a right to know about the situation and the actions taken to correct it. In an undated notice on the city's website, a sewer notice was also listed for a project on 2100 W that was scheduled for Tuesday, Aug. 4.
The city has also been working to install new water meter reading devices. These devices allow customers to monitor water usage every 15 minutes via a phone app, computer, or tablet. This technology is intended to help customers identify leaks quickly to save money on water bills.
The mission of St. George Water Services is to manage and optimize the complete water cycle, including the treatment and distribution of drinking and irrigation water, as well as wastewater collection and treatment.
