Utah State men's basketball is scheduled to begin its 122nd season on Monday, Nov. 2, when it hosts the Idaho State Bengals at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum. The game is scheduled for a 7:30 p.m. tipoff and will be streamed for free on the Pac-12 YouTube channel.
The matchup marks the first season of the Aggies' inaugural year as a member of the Pac-12 Conference, following 12 years in the Mountain West Conference. The program enters the season under head coach Ben Jacobson, who was hired on March 30, 2026, as the 23rd head coach in program history. Jacobson previously spent 20 seasons as the head coach at Northern Iowa.
Utah State enters the campaign following a 29-7 overall season, which included winning the Mountain West regular season title and the Mountain West Tournament championship. The team also secured its fifth NCAA Tournament appearance in the last six years, notably defeating Villanova 86-76 in the opening round. The Aggies return four players from the previous squad, including Mason Falslev, the Mountain West Player of the Year, and Karson Templin, the Mountain West Sixth Man of the Year. The roster also features 11 newcomers, consisting of nine transfers and two freshmen.
Individual milestones are highlighted for returning players. Dallin Hall enters the season 14 points away from 1,000 career points, having previously played at Virginia and BYU. Mason Falslev is 31 points away from reaching 1,500 career points, a mark achieved by only 13 players in school history.
Utah State is scheduled to host Omaha from the Summit League next on Saturday, Nov. 7. That game is scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff and will be broadcast on the Pac-12 YouTube page.
