Kaysville GIVES is calling on the community to help reach its goal of filling 1,8 and tags to support local residents and students during Christmastime. The initiative, which aims to make the holiday season easier for those in Kaysville, is currently accepting donations through December 8th.
The program offers several ways for residents to contribute. Individuals can select items from a virtual giving tree or utilize an Amazon Gift List, with all gifts being delivered directly to the partner location at Young Truck and Trailer in Kaysville.
How to make donations
Financial contributions can be made online via the Kaysville GIVES website. For donations exceeding $250, donors will receive a tax write-off receipt. Physical donations can also be dropped off at Kaysville City Hall or Young Truck and Trailer located at 220 N. 650 W.
Program history and impact
Since 2019, the program has transitioned from physical Christmas tree tags to virtual tags on its website to reach more residents. The initiative has historically supported organizations including The Family Enrichment Center in Kaysville, Mountain High School students, the Bountiful Food Pantry, and Safe Harbor.
Partnerships supporting the initiative
A partnership with Young Truck and Trailer and the Young Caring for Young Foundation continues to support the program. Young Truck and Trailer receives all donations at their Kaysville location and provides trucks and trailers for transportation, while also managing financial donations through their foundations to ensure they are tax-exempt.
Upcoming community event details
Additionally, the Fill the Fire Truck event is scheduled for Saturday, December 2, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Kaysville Fire Station. This event features support from the Kaysville Fire Department, Youth City Council, City Council, and Mayor Tran.
