The Utah Division of Water Resources is inviting the public to participate in Water Talks, a series of community gatherings designed to help shape the 2026 State Water Plan. As the state updates its roadmap for managing, using, and protecting water, these sessions provide an opportunity for residents to voice their priorities.
These open meetings are intended to allow community members to learn about the plan, share local ideas, and contribute to decisions regarding the future of water in their specific regions.
The Water Talk schedule spans across various basins throughout August, September, and October 2025. Some locations offer virtual participation options, while others require in-person attendance.
Scheduled meetings include:
Southeastern Utah: Aug. 28 at Hideout Community Center in Monticello (Virtual option available).
Utah Lake: Sept. 8 at Spanish Fork Library, Heritage Room in Spanish Fork.
West Desert: Sept. 15 at City Hall, City Council Chambers in Tooele (Virtual option available).
Cedar/Beaver: Sept. 17 at the Department of Natural Resources Regional Office in Cedar City (Virtual option available).
Bear River: Sept. 22 at Logan Library, Community Room A in Logan.
Jordan River: Sept. 24 at Marmalade Library, Multi-purpose Room in Salt Lake City.
Sevier: Oct. 2 at the Department of Natural Resources Regional Office in Richfield.
Weber: Oct. 20 at Bountiful Library Auditorium in Bountiful (Virtual option available).
West Colorado: Oct. 22 at the Administration Building Old Courthouse in Castle Dale (Virtual option available).
Uintah: Oct. 23 at Uintah Conference Center, Paradise Banquet Hall in Vernal (Virtual option available).
Kanab Creek / Virgin River: Oct. 30 at Washington County Library - St. George Branch in St. George.
