The Salt Lake City Council adopted a $2.1 billion budget for Fiscal Year 2026-27 on Tuesday, June 16, 2026. The approved spending plan is intended to focus on essential services, neighborhood infrastructure, public safety, and thoughtful financial stewardship.
In District 5, which includes Ballpark, Central Ninth, East Liberty Park, and Liberty Wells, recent community recognitions include Vickie Shaw. Shaw serves as the Executive Director of Fit to Recover and was recognized in June as a neighbor helping to improve the community.
Upcoming public meetings for the City Council include a meeting on July 21 at the City & County Building or online via Zoom. Additionally, a C.R.A. and City Council Meeting is scheduled for July 14.
Members of the public may register to comment in person at City Hall or online through Zoom for upcoming meetings. For online comments, registration is available 24 hours prior to the start of the meeting. Agendas are published at least 24 hours before scheduled meetings.
