As of July 1, 2016, the Davis County Health Department began offering classroom-based Food Handler Permit training in Spanish at the Clearfield Main Campus. Classes are held on the second Friday of each month at 9 a.m., except on legal holidays. This initiative aims to address low demand for the permit training.
The training course and permit fee are $25, and a picture ID is required. Classes fill up quickly, so it is recommended to call 801-525-5120 to reserve a seat. Cash, check, or major credit/debit cards are accepted. Additionally, an online option is available, allowing individuals to complete a Utah-approved course and obtain a Certificate of Completion for up to 30 days before the official permit is issued.
For those interested in becoming a certified food safety manager, a Food Safety Manager Certification course is also offered. The Utah Department of Health maintains a list of approved providers. Further information can be obtained by calling 801-525-5120.
