The No. 1 Lehi boys volleyball team earned a spot in the title match after defeating No. 5 Mountain Ridge with scores of 24-14, 33-31, and 25-22.
Lehi will face defending state champion and No. 2 Bingham in the championship game. The first serve is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. at UVU’s UCCU Events Center.
The Pioneers began the match with a strong performance in the first set, running off six straight points to establish a lead they maintained throughout the set.
In the second set, the Sentinels responded by leading for much of the game. The set featured many tied scores and back-and-forth set-point opportunities before Lehi secured the win.
The third set remained close from start to finish with multiple ties occurring throughout play.
After a kill broke an 18-all tie, the Pioneers maintained their lead until they secured the match victory.
