Salt Lake City's Planning Division is conducting online open houses to provide an opportunity for the public to review various projects and provide comments and questions. These sessions serve as a platform for community input on a variety of citywide and local development initiatives.
The online open houses cover a wide range of applications, including zoning map amendments, text amendments, and design reviews. Recent active projects include the Lamplighter Rezone at 2475-2493 E 1700 S and the Silo Park Retail Design Review at 522 S 400 W. Other active items include the Planned Developments and Community Benefits project and the La Esquina Multi-Family Mixed Development.
Public comments and questions may be submitted to designated staff planners via email or voicemail. According to the Planning Division, questions will be answered within one week after the comment window has ended. Detailed information regarding staff contact and specific public comment windows can be found at the bottom of each individual Online Open House listing.
The city is also working on several significant community updates. Salt Lake City is currently updating the Central Community Plan to establish a vision for the area for the next 15 years. Additionally, updates are being processed for the Capitol Hill Community Plan and the Avenues Community Plan.
Other notable items under review include the designation of Gilgal Gardens on the Local Register as a Landmark Site and various zoning text amendments regarding topics such as daily water use limits, landscaping and buffers, and affordable housing incentives.
For records not displayed on the open house list, residents are encouraged to use the Citizen Access Portal or the Salt Lake City Infobase. The city also notes that requests for ADA accommodations in alternative formats should be submitted at least 48 hours in advance.
