Brighton High School has announced a busy schedule of academic and athletic events for the week of April 20, 2026. The upcoming week includes parent-teacher conferences, significant athletic matchups, and updates regarding graduation protocols for seniors.
Trimester 3 Parent/Teacher Conferences are scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2026. The school will observe an early out day on this date to accommodate the sessions. Virtual conferences via Google Meet will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., while in-person meetings at Brighton are set for 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Parents can sign up through Skyward, with the registration period having opened on April 17.
Athletic events throughout the week include several home games at Brighton. On Monday, boys soccer faces Alta and girls lacrosse hosts Bountiful. Tuesday features softball and boys soccer against Bountiful, alongside boys tennis versus Woods Cross and baseball against Viewmont. Wednesday includes softball against Juan Diego, baseball at Viewmont, and both girls and boys lacrosse matches against Skyline. Friday's schedule includes softball against Alta, baseball against Viewmont, and boys lacrosse at Bountiful. Additionally, track events are scheduled for Thursday against Viewmont and Olympus, and a Saturday meet in Orem.
For students interested in performing arts, the Marching Band is holding sectionals on Wednesday, April 22, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Band Hall. Registration contracts for the 2026 fall season are being accepted through May 1. Colorguard is also conducting open clinics from Tuesday through Thursday between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.
Seniors preparing for graduation should review provided checklists regarding end-of-year dates and cap and gown distribution. Those interested in serving as a graduation speaker must sign up in Mr. Hodges's room by May 4 for tryouts held on May 6.
In local community news, Bella Vista Tigers will host a Memory Night on Monday, May 4, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The event celebrates the school's legacy as it prepares to join neighboring Ridgecrest Elementary. The evening invites alumni and community members to reconnect and view memorabilia.
