The Orem Events Advisory Commission is scheduled to meet on Thursday, November 12, 2026, to discuss various city updates and upcoming event preparations, according to a November 5 statement from the City of Orem.
The meeting is scheduled to take place from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the City Council Conference Room located at 56 North State Street in Orem. The agenda includes a review and approval of the minutes from the October 8, 2026, meeting led by Ashley Shumway.
City Council updates will be provided by Crystal Muhlestein and Jeff Lambson, while City Staff updates will be presented by Kenice Whitaker and Sydney Bailey. The commission will also engage in preparations for the January 2027 Event Commission Meeting, including event commission training, new appointments for Chair and Vice Chair, and proposals for the Oremfest theme and Grand Marshal. Additionally, the commission will review the event and meeting schedule for the year.
Discussion items for the meeting include a Veterans Day report and evaluation by Rodney Gardner, as well as details regarding the Lights On event scheduled for November 30, 2026. Topics for the Lights On discussion include kid's activities, a scavenger hunt and prize, ornament crafts, letters to Santa, stage entertainment, photo opportunities, and the Orem Express Train.
The meeting will conclude with a review of action commitments by Kenice Whitaker. The next meeting is scheduled for Thursday, January 14, 2027, as there will be no meeting in December. The public is invited to participate in all city meetings.
