Herriman City is set to assume full operational and financial responsibility for its waste services effective December 1, 2026. This transition follows an agreement finalized with the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District (WFWRD) after Herriman City requested to withdraw from the district's service area.
According to a notice from the Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District, garbage, recycling, and green-waste collection services will continue through November 30, 2026. The district will continue to bill and collect for all services provided to Herriman City prior to the December 1 transition.
WFWRD stated it will make efforts to communicate the transition to Herriman residents through available channels, while Herriman City will be responsible for broader communication to its residents regarding the transition. Inquiries regarding waste services in Herriman on or after December 1, 2026, should be directed to Herriman City.
The final WFWRD bill for November services will be sent the first week of December, with payment due December 27, 2026. The district stated that its commitment to providing waste and recycling services to its customers remains unaffected.
