Garth Brooks has added a third performance to his Salt Lake City tour at the Delta Center following massive ticket demand and technical issues during a recent sale. The newly added matinee show is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 11, joining previously announced concerts on Friday, Oct. 9, and Saturday, Oct. 10.
Massive Ticket Demand
The decision to add a third show comes after an on-sale event on Friday, Sept. 18, 2026, that saw more than 100,000 fans flooding the ticket queues. According to the Delta Center, queues for both the Friday and Saturday performances surpassed 50,000 people each, with more than 90% of those in line verified as human.
On-Sale Disruptions
While the initial ticket sale appeared to launch smoothly, the process was disrupted when all tickets appeared to be claimed just minutes after the launch. SeatGeek, the ticketing provider, launched an investigation after realizing the ticket numbers did not align with the actual demand. Brooks praised the professionalism of the SeatGeek and Delta Center teams for managing the situation during the disruption.
Artist Reactions
Brooks expressed gratitude for the overwhelming interest from Utah fans during the announcement of the additional show. The singer stated that the goal of any on-sale is to ensure that anyone who wants a ticket can obtain one. He noted that Utah has always been a significant location for his performances, stating, "The great state of Utah has ALWAYS been the place for Garth Brooks to play."
Tour Production Details
The upcoming performances are part of the Blame It All on My Roots Arena Tour. This production returns Brooks to an indoor arena setting and features a circular stage design, allowing fans to surround the artist on all sides. The production includes iconic elements such as towering LED screens, referred to as "the halo," and the return of his signature Drum Pod centerpiece.
Historical Context
The return to the Delta Center marks Brooks' first appearance at the venue in nearly 11 years. His history with Salt Lake City venues includes a performance at the Delta Center in July 1998 and a return in 2015. Additionally, his Stadium Tour brought him to Rice-Eccles Stadium in 2021 and 2022, where three stadium concerts sold more than 160,000 tickets in less than one year.
Ticket Information
Tickets for the newly added Sunday, Oct. 11, matinee show are scheduled to go on sale Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 10 a.m. MT through SeatGeek. This additional date complements the existing schedule for the Oct. 9 and Oct. 10 performances at the Delta Center.
Future Outlook
The addition of the third show follows a period of significant engagement between Brooks and his Utah fanbase, which stretches back nearly three decades. Brooks indicated he would welcome the opportunity to play even more shows in Salt Lake City if demand allows.
