America Recycles Day is November 15th
America Recycles Day is on Sunday, November 15th. It’s a great
reminder of the importance of recycling and that recycling right
makes a real difference. Recycling saves resources, keeps
recoverable materials out of the landfill, and helps our
communities stay clean.
Not sure what belongs in your recycle can? Our WFWRD app can help! Use the app to quickly find
recycling information, set up collection reminders, and learn how to properly dispose of items that don’t
belong in your curbside recycle can.
Don’t have the app yet? Look for and download the Wasatch Front Waste &
Recycling District app from the Apple App Store or Google Play (look for
“WFWRD” or “Wasatch Front Waste”).
We also have our “How to Recycle” page on our website where you can download a recycling guide:
wfwrdutah.gov/how-recycle.
Every little bit helps! Let’s make every day America Recycles Day!
HB 107 – Recycling Reporting & Transparency
Where does your recycling go? We’re helping make that information easier to see.
Utah’s recycling transparency requirements help communities better understand the amount of recyclable
material being collected from residents.
WFWRD provides recycling information to the communities we serve twice each year. We also make this
information available on our Recycling Material Transparency Report webpage and provide community-
specific data through this newsletter each May and November.
From January 1 through June 30, 2026, WFWRD collected 7,421 tons of recyclable material from the
approximately 86,000 households we serve. That’s more than 14.8 million pounds…or about 173
pounds per household!
The chart below shows how much recycling material was collected in each community during that six-month
period.
