The Huntsville Town Council met at Huntsville Town Hall to address local infrastructure and road maintenance. During the meeting, Mayor Richard Sorensen called the session to order with a full quorum present.
The council discussed the approval of up to $90,000 for road repairs. Bruce Ahistrom identified several roads within the town that require maintenance. According to the meeting minutes, the lowest bid for the project was submitted by Mike LaRose, though additional bids were expected. The council also noted plans to perform chip sealing on certain roads that received an overlay during the previous year.
Several bids were presented for the 2026 road projects, including proposals from Slate Canyon Asphalt, LaRose Paving, Inc., and Morgan Pavement. These proposals included various locations such as 300 South, 7600 East, 200 South, and the intersection of 500 South and 7700 East.
The meeting was attended by Mayor Richard Sorensen, Council Members Bruce Ahistrom, Sandy Hunter, and Lewis Johnson, as well as Legal Counsel William Morris and Clerk Nikki Wolthuis. Citizens Will Vandertoolen and Jeff Keeney were also in attendance.
