Clinton Elementary released a newsletter on October 3, 2026, detailing upcoming school activities and health advisories for the weeks of October 5 and October 12. School Nurse Sarah Cook reported an increase in common childhood illnesses, such as colds and flu-like symptoms, among students.
To maintain a healthy learning environment, Cook advised parents to keep children home if they exhibit symptoms including fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, vomiting, diarrhea, or general illness. Students may return to school once they are feeling better and have been fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication.
Several events are scheduled for the coming weeks. The Clinton city Halloween Walk is scheduled for October 5. Individual school pictures will be taken on October 6. A PTA meeting will be held on October 7 at 4 p.m., followed by a Community Council meeting on October 8 at 4 p.m. The PTA Fall Carnival is scheduled for October 12 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Other upcoming dates include an early out dismissal on October 13, a teacher professional day with no school on October 14, and fall break spanning October 15 through October 16. A Family Spooky STEM Night is planned for October 22 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
The school is also hosting a Champion Martial Arts fundraiser, with registration available in person or by calling the office through October 22. Classes are held in the school patio from 3:30 to 4:00 p.m., with a $25 donation supporting the school.
Regarding academic programs, DEEP magnet testing for grades 2 through 6 will occur on November 19 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for students in grades 3, 4, and 5, and on December 1 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. for students in grades K, 1, and 2. Applications for the program are due January 31.
Clinton Elementary observes Spirit Wear Fridays, where students are encouraged to wear school colors—blue, yellow, and gray—or Clinton shirts. The school also sells Beef Jerky Fridays for 50 cents and $1 to support the Student Council, with ingredients meeting HB402 standards. Additionally, vision screenings for preschool, kindergarten, 1st, 3rd, and 5th grade students are scheduled for November 13.
