Swaner EcoCenter has announced its Fall Break Camp, designed to help youth discover how nature transforms during the changing seasons. According to information from Utah State University, the camp is open to students currently enrolled in 1st through 5th grade, though kindergarteners are not eligible to attend.
The camp sessions are scheduled for October 15 and October 16. The session on Thursday, October 15, is titled Equinox Exploration and focuses on seasonal changes such as animal adaptations and changing leaves. The session on Friday, October 16, is titled Spooky Science and involves investigating bats, bones, and other nature-based science topics.
Registration for the camp is scheduled to open on September 14 at 9 am. Daily camp hours run from 9 am to 4 pm, and the cost is $80 per day. Detailed agendas and packing lists are expected to be sent to participants approximately one week before the camp begins.
Financial aid is available through tuition waivers for individuals with financial need. Interested parties can contact Katherine Veeder, the Director of Youth Programs, for more information.
Cancellation policies state that refunds are available if a cancellation occurs more than two weeks before the camp date, minus a $25 fee per day per camper. If a cancellation occurs within two weeks of the camp, a refund is only provided if the spot is filled from the waitlist.
The Swaner EcoCenter is located at 1258 Center Drive, Park City, Utah 84098. The center is generally open Wednesday through Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm, though it will be closed on Wednesday, October 7, and Thursday, October 8.
