The 79th annual Tooele County Junior Livestock Show and Sale is scheduled to take place from July 29 through August 1, 2026, at The Peak. Located at 2930 West Highway 112 in Tooele, Utah, the event serves as an annual tradition for local youth exhibitors.
The schedule for the event begins on Wednesday, July 29, with breeding sheep permitted on site at 1:00 p.m., followed by a breeding sheep show at 2:00 p.m. Weigh-ins for all species are scheduled between 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. that day. The evening includes an exhibitors meeting at 6:30 p.m. and a junior judging contest and written test from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
On Thursday, July 30, various judging and shows are scheduled, including market swine, market sheep, and market goat judging, with pee wee shows to follow each. Market beef judging is scheduled for 5:00 p.m.
Saturday, August 1, will include fitting and showing for swine, sheep, goat, and beef starting at 7:30 a.m. The market livestock sale is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m., starting with all Grand and Reserve Champions. The sale order will begin with beef, followed by swine, lambs, and goats, with other species alternating throughout the remainder of the sale.
According to the 2026 rule book, exhibitors must be members of FFA or 4-H. Registration for the event was set to open on May 1 via fairentry.com. The deadline for registration was June 29, 2026.
To be eligible for the 2027 livestock show and sale, all participants must turn in a completed record book by October 1, 2026. For 4-H participants, books are to be submitted to the Tooele County USU Extension Office located at 151 No. Main, Tooele, Utah, 84074. FFA record books are submitted online through AET to the exhibitor's FFA advisor.
President Kevin England stated that the show provides an invaluable learning and growth experience for young exhibitors, helping them develop self-esteem and sportsmanship skills. The board also noted the importance of the show in developing future leaders through competition and dedication.
