An adult male was seriously injured yesterday evening during the execution of a search warrant in Cedar City.
The Cedar City Police Department stated that officers were serving a warrant near 350 West and 400 North when a firearm was discharged inside the residence.
Authorities reported that the injured man received treatment at the scene before being transported to a hospital via ambulance.
According to investigators, no officers were injured during the incident. Preliminary findings from the investigation indicate that the firearm was not fired by law enforcement.
Officials stated there is no ongoing threat to the public following the discharge of the firearm.
