The 2026 Tooele County Small Animal Contest was scheduled to take place from July 31 through August 1. Sponsored by USU Extension, the event was open to all residents of Tooele County.
Animals were required to be checked in between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. on Friday, July 31, 2026, at the Pavilion building at The Peak. Examples of animals eligible for the contest included chickens, pigeons, guinea pigs, and rabbits. All entries were required to fit comfortably within an 18x18x24 inch pen.
Owners were responsible for providing food and water for their animals twice a day, though water was available onsite. Additionally, owners agreed to spend two hours managing the contest area per animal entry during Heritage Days by signing up for shifts at registration.
