The Philadelphia Union secured a 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake at Subaru Park on Saturday night, extending their unbeaten run to 13 consecutive MLS matches.
Bruno Damiani and Milan Iloski scored for the Union to secure the win, while Saba Lobjanidze scored for Real Salt Lake in stoppage time during the match.
Damiani opened the scoring in the 31st minute following a seven-pass sequence involving Frankie Westfield and Cavan Sullivan. His right-footed shot into the bottom-right corner gave the Union a 1-0 lead. Before halftime, Damiani nearly scored a second goal, but his headed effort in the 39th minute was saved by Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Rafael Cabral.
In the second half, the Union extended their lead in the 82nd minute through Milan Iloski. The goal, which followed a counterattack and a VAR review, was assisted by Cavan Sullivan. Real Salt Lake responded in the 96th minute when Lobjanidze finished from inside the box to make the final score 2-1.
Real Salt Lake utilized a 5-4-1 formation with Rafael Cabral in goal. The visitors made two substitutions at halftime, bringing on Juan Manuel Sanabria and Luc De Fougerolles. Other players appearing for Salt Lake included Kobi Henry, Philip Quinton, DeAndre Yedlin, Dominik Marczuk, Morgan Guilavogui, Stijn Spierings, Noel Caliskan, Aiden Hezarkhani, and Sergi Solans.
