BYU held its second practice of fall camp on Thursday in Provo, Utah, as the 2026 football season begins less than a month away. The Cougars are scheduled to kick off the season on September 5 against Utah Tech.
The 2026 schedule includes seven home games at LaVell Edwards Stadium. The home slate features Utah Tech on September 5, Arizona on September 12, Iowa State on October 9, Notre Dame on October 17, Arizona State on October 31, Baylor on November 14, and Cincinnati on November 28.
On the road, the Cougars will play five games against Colorado State, TCU, UCF, Utah, and Kansas. The team has one bye week scheduled for September 26. The regular season consists of a 13-week calendar with a 12-game schedule.
Three of BYU's opponents from the previous season finished ranked in the Associated Press Top 25: Notre Dame at No. 10, Utah at No. 14, and TCU at No. 25. Additionally, Arizona received votes listed 30th in the polls. The Cougars will face seven teams that qualified for a bowl game in 2025.
The Cougars will play nine conference games in the Big 12, with five games at home and four on the road. New Big 12 opponents on the schedule include Arizona State, Baylor, and Kansas. The Big 12 Championship is scheduled for Friday, December 4, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The season opener on September 5 features the Utah Tech Trailblazers making their second visit to LaVell Edwards Stadium. The two programs last met in 2022, when BYU won 52-26.
