News Release Date: October 7, 2026

CEDAR CITY, Utah — Cedar Breaks National Monument will conclude its 2026 summer operations in October as the monument transitions to winter operations.

The final day of operation for the Visitor Center, Human History Museum, and Zion Forever Project Park Store will be Saturday, October 17. The monument’s campground has already closed for the season, and the 2026 schedule of Night Sky Tours and summer special events has concluded.

Cedar Breaks sits at elevations above 10,000 feet, where freezing temperatures and winter weather can arrive early in the fall. Water service at the Visitor Center may be discontinued before October 17 to prevent damage from freezing temperatures. Visitors planning late-season trips are encouraged to bring water with them, as water service may be discontinued ahead of the seasonal closure.

Visitors planning a trip to Cedar Breaks are encouraged to check the monument’s Current Conditions page before traveling for the latest information on weather, road conditions, facility availability, and other changes that may affect their visit.
