Local prep sports saw several dominant performances on Wednesday across baseball and girls soccer. In 1A South baseball, the Wayne Badgers and Panguitch Bobcats secured decisive victories, while the Juab Wasps and Maeser Prep Lions claimed wins in non-region girls soccer play.
In 1A South baseball action in Price, the Wayne Badgers defeated Pinnacle 26-0. Keaton Giles contributed three runs during the game, while Beylan Wood earned the win on the mound after recording three strikeouts in one inning of work.
In Panguitch, Casey Walter drove in three runs as the Panguitch Bobcats beat Green River 19-0.
In Tropic, the Piute Thunderbirds defeated Bryce Valley 20-4. Gradee Montague drove in three runs, and Julian Mar secured the win on the mound with six strikeouts in 2.2 innings of work. Trevyn Clark and Krewz Palmer each recorded an RBI for the Mustangs.
In non-region girls soccer, the Juab Wasps defeated North Sanpete 4-1 in Nephi, with Charlotte Warner scoring a hat trick. Hailey Reyes scored for the Hawks.
Maeser Prep Lions beat Beaver 5-1. Scorers for the Lions included Cami Simmons, Lilah Leeper, Tess Jorgensen, and Ellery Garner. Megan Kerksiek scored for the Beavers.
In Gunnison, Kelsie Mellor scored two goals to help the Gunnison Valley Bulldogs defeat APA West Valley 7-0.
