A family visited Unified Fire stations to introduce a newborn baby girl to the paramedics who delivered her, according to a report published August 13.
The mother, father, and older brother escorted the infant to Station 107, located in the Oquirrh Shadows area of West Jordan, where the birth occurred.
Because some EMTs involved in the delivery were from different areas, the family also stopped by other stations to pay respects to the workers.
A Unified Fire statement noted that the visit occurred during a busy season involving wildland fires, structure fires, and various community emergencies. The organization stated that while every call is important, not every call ends with new life, making the delivery a welcome reminder of the positive aspects of the job.
The Unified Fire Authority reported that the mother, baby, and family are all doing well.
