Clearfield High School students raised $84,044.32 for the Safe Harbor Crisis Center during the school's annual Falcons Are Fabulous fundraiser. The two-week event focused on service, school spirit, and community giving.
Correction on donation total
While a correction was issued regarding a spreadsheet duplication error that previously reported a different total, the updated amount reflects a grassroots effort supported by student and community donations.
Impact of funds for Safe Harbor
The donation was announced during the final FAF assembly. The funds will benefit Safe Harbor, which serves more than 3,000 people annually in Davis County through outreach programs, therapy, transitional housing, and emergency shelter.
Security improvements at Kaysville campus
Safe Harbor Executive Director Todd Hixson stated that the money will help reinforce security at the Kaysville campus. Hixson noted that this is a project requiring urgent funding and that the donation will make a significant difference in client safety.
Fundraising activities and student goals
Students generated funds through auctions, competitions, donations, and assembly events such as save or shave challenges and lip-sync battles. Student leaders noted that the initiative aimed to raise awareness for difficult topics.
Raising awareness for domestic abuse
Service Officer Paige said the goal was to bring more awareness to sexual assault and domestic abuse to show that help is available and that Clearfield High School supports victims in their rehabilitation.
Community generosity drives success
Student Body Officer President Luke credited the success to the community's generosity, noting that despite the school being a lower income school, the amount of money gathered for the cause is astounding.
