The Kaysville GIVES program is entering its ninth year of community-wide holiday support for local children and families. What began with a small number of giving-tree tags at City Hall has expanded into a significant effort involving residents and local businesses to provide gifts and contributions for more than 550 children from the Kaysville area.
Fundraising goals and participation methods
The program has established a fundraising goal of $80,000 to support its mission. Residents can participate by sponsoring a child, shopping from curated Amazon wish lists, or making direct financial donations through the KaysvilleGIVES.com website.
Physical donation deadlines and locations
For those choosing to donate physical items via the virtual giving tree, all items are due by December 11 at 5:00 PM. Donors should include the gift number with their items, which do not need to be wrapped. Delivery locations for these items include Young Truck and Trailer at 220 N 650 W and Kaysville City Hall at 23 E Center St.
Fill the Fire Truck event details
A highlight of the season is the annual Fill the Fire Truck event, which has moved to a new location at Barnes Park. The event invites community members to bring new, unwrapped toys or cash donations to the Kaysville Fire Department's truck. Attendees can also enjoy photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a visit from The Grinch, and performances by local youth groups.
Community updates and seasonal ceremonies
In addition to holiday giving, several community updates were announced for the season. The Angel of Hope Candlelight Ceremony will take place on December 6 at 7:00 p.m. at the Kaysville Cemetery. Furthermore, Kaysville City Hall has expanded its museum display area with new exhibits featuring the LeConte Stewart Art Gallery and a tribute to Joseph Barton.
