Still Water Elementary Begins New Chapter With Ribbon Cutting

Hundreds of community members gathered Tuesday afternoon to celebrate the ribbon cutting of Still Water Elementary School, marking an exciting milestone before Davis School District students begin school this fall.
Ceremony Details
Held outside the school's main entrance, the ceremony brought together district leaders, city officials, students and community members to celebrate a school built to serve Syracuse's growing community.
Key Speakers
Speakers included Still Water Elementary Principal Kurt Farnsworth, Davis School District Board of Education member Kristen Hogan, Superintendent Dr. Dan Linford and Syracuse Mayor Dave Maughan. Each spoke about the collaboration and community support that made the new school possible.
Student Participation
Students played an important role in the celebration by joining district and community leaders for the ribbon cutting, just as they did during the school's groundbreaking ceremony.

Following the ceremony, attendees were invited inside for the school's first public open house. Families explored classrooms, learning spaces and common areas, getting their first look at the building.
