Utah’s top girls soccer programs in the 5A and 6A classifications head into the 2026 fall season with familiar faces at the top after Lone Peak claimed the 6A title and Bountiful won 5A in 2025.
Recent Championship Results
Lone Peak defeated Syracuse in the 6A championship game at America First Field, while Bountiful edged Olympus in the 5A final at Zions Bank Stadium in Herriman. Both programs return significant production heading into the new campaign.
Upcoming Rankings and Classifications
The Utah High School Activities Association has not yet released preseason rankings or RPI standings for 5A and 6A. The first RPI-powered rankings are scheduled for August 30, 2026. Official classifications and regions for the 2025-2027 cycle were announced in late 2024.
Key 6A Players to Watch
Returning standouts from the Deseret News 2025 All-State teams will shape the early favorite discussions. In 6A, junior forward Camila Palafox of Copper Hills posted 25 goals and 7 assists as a sophomore and earned first-team honors. Syracuse junior midfielder Jocee Eddy (15 goals, 16 assists) and Lone Peak junior defender Ada Villarreal also return after strong 2025 campaigns. Sophomore Lillie Watson of Lehi (16 goals, 4 assists) and junior Kaylee Montgomery of Mountain Ridge add depth to the classification.
Top 5A Standout Performers
In 5A, Bountiful junior Myka Page, the playoff MVP, returns after a first-team selection. Wasatch junior Ellie Karl, Bonneville junior Kambry Dalton (20 goals, 5 assists), and Olympus juniors Emma Peterson and Keira Bradley figure prominently on the preseason radar. Springville and Brighton also placed multiple players on the 2025 All-State lists.
Projected Title Contenders
Programs expected to contend include 6A sides Lone Peak, Syracuse, Mountain Ridge, Copper Hills, Lehi, Herriman, Farmington, and Riverton, along with 5A contenders Bountiful, Olympus, Springville, Wasatch, Bonneville, Clearfield, and Box Elder. Many of these schools are located in the Salt Lake Valley, Davis County, and northern Utah County.
Important Season Dates and Deadlines
The UHSAA calendar sets girls soccer tryouts and team selection for July 27, 2026, with the first contests allowed August 3. Varsity rosters are due in Aktivate and MaxPreps by August 28.
Coaches and players will begin official practices in late July, and early non-region matchups will provide the first on-field indications of which teams have maintained or improved their depth from last season’s championship squads.
