Heber City is reminding residents and visitors to take specific steps to maintain community safety as winter approaches, according to a November 5 statement.
As snow accumulates, the city is asking individuals to keep sidewalks and fire hydrants clear to ensure accessibility and safety.
To maintain pedestrian safety, the city requests that snow and ice be removed from sidewalks located in front of properties. Additionally, residents are asked to maintain at least 3 feet of clearance around fire hydrants to allow emergency responders quick access.
When clearing driveways, sidewalks, or property, the city requests that snow not be pushed or piled into the street. Keeping snow on private property helps prevent visibility hazards in streets and driveways.
Winter parking restrictions in Heber City are scheduled to begin November 15 and will remain in effect through April 1.
Under Heber City Code 10.16.040, parking or leaving vehicles on the paved portion of City streets or within five feet is prohibited during this period. Moving vehicles off the streets during snow season is requested to help crews clear roads safely and efficiently.
