The growth in the aerospace sector in Ogden is attributed to a strong engineering and manufacturing workforce, a competitive business environment, and proximity to Hill Air Force Base. This industry expansion is driving significant investments in Weber County.
Gauss Management Research and Engineering announced an expansion in Weber County that projects nearly $4 million in investment and 50 new high-paying jobs over five years. Additionally, Precision Hermetic Technology is investing $19.7 million to establish and expand its headquarters in Ogden, a move projected to add 210 high-paying jobs over the next 10 years. Williams International is also investing over $1 billion into its Ogden manufacturing facility for the production of military and commercial jet engines, which is expected to create 300 new high-paying jobs.
The expansion of the aerospace and manufacturing industries creates economic ripple effects for local small businesses. Increased employment leads to higher demand for contractors, restaurants, housing, and professional services, as new residents move to Weber County to fill these roles.
