The summer theater season across Utah featured an extensive lineup of performances throughout July 2026. From the Wasatch Front to Southern Utah, audiences had access to numerous productions ranging from Disney classics to Shakespearean plays.
In Northern Utah, several productions were active during this period. The Lyric Repertory Company in Logan hosted Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Come From Away, Forever Plaid, Gutenberg! The Musical!, and The Outsider. Other notable shows included Disney’s Tarzan at CenterPoint Legacy Theatre in Centerville and A Midsummer Night’s Dream at the Ogden Shakespeare Festival.
Salt Lake County offerings included Harmony and Our Town at the Hale Centre Theatre in Sandy, as well as High School Musical at the Draper Historic Theatre. The Salt Lake Acting Company presented The Gaslight Zone, while the Desert Star Playhouse in Murray featured The Big Bang Theory: The Nerds are Back!.
Utah County productions included Matilda The Musical at both SCERA in Orem and the Timpanogos Arts Foundation in American Fork. Other regional highlights were The Prince of Egypt at Spanish Fork Community Theater and Finding Neverland at Alpine Community Theater in Pleasant Grove.
Southern Utah remained a major hub for theater, with Tuacahn Amphitheatre and Center for the Arts presenting Les Misérables, Grease, and Disney & PIXAR’S Finding Nemo. The Utah Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City maintained a heavy schedule with productions such as Hamlet, She Loves Me, and Something Rotten!.
Youth productions also played a significant role in the summer season, with various musical editions performed by groups like Ziegfeld Arts Academy and On Pitch Performing Arts. The season provided a diverse calendar of theatrical events for theatergoers across the state.
