The Library Learning Center at Bryant Middle School is providing students with various digital reading resources including SORA, Overdrive, and access to Salt Lake City and Salt Lake County library collections.
Students can use their Salt Lake City or County Library card number and PIN to access eBooks and audiobooks. Those who are students in the school district are eligible for Salt Lake City Library cards.
An upcoming reading challenge for the month of October features incentives from Arctic Circle. Students who read five hours during October will receive a free sundae.
Students who reach seven hours of reading will also earn a bonus prize from the library.
The school is also sharing a video of Jason Reynolds responding to a student's question regarding why students should read. The center notes that reading serves as a tool for building empathy, finding information, and preparing for high school.
For assistance with library card numbers, PINs, or accessing the county library, students may email Wendy Blankenship. Instructions are also available for downloading the SORA app to mobile phones and accessing it via computer through Canvas.
