August 2025
The Utah Transportation Commission unanimously approved funding to extend the Utah Transit Authority’s (UTA) S-Line!
UTA, in partnership with Salt Lake City and the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), will work to extend the S-Line from its current end-of-line at Fairmont (1040 East) to the Sugar House Center shopping district.
This extension aims to support local businesses, reduce traffic congestion and air pollution.
It will also strengthen community connections by creating transit to link to healthcare workers and patients to the University of Utah Health – Sugar House Clinic, forthcoming affordable senior housing, and more.
While this project will require some disruption, it is a vital investment in our community as it continues to grow.
