While most areas are accessible, the Johnson Canyon seasonal trail closure is in effect. Access to Johnson Canyon trails is limited to Ranger Guided hikes, with other trails remaining open.
Visitors are reminded that leashed dogs are permitted on all trails, and owners are asked to bag and bin all waste. The park also provides alerts regarding heat safety and seasonal flash flood preparedness, noting that the summer monsoon season typically runs from July through September.
The park is a desert environment where daytime temperatures in July and August frequently exceed 105 degrees Fahrenheit. Visitors are encouraged to follow heat safety tips when visiting the park.
