Utah website, the grant program provides funding for both special projects and professional development to support economic growth and expertise within Utah communities.
Special Projects Match Grants are designed to assist Utah communities with unique projects that foster economic development and growth. These grants provide reimbursements for one-half of the cost of a pre-approved project, up to a maximum of $5,000.
Professional Development Match Grants aim to enhance the expertise and professionalism of economic developers in Utah. These grants offer reimbursements for one-half of the cost of professional development, up to $1,500 per person.
To be eligible, applicants must be EDC
Utah investors. This includes municipalities, counties, non-profit entities acting in concert with investors, or organized regional associations. While regional approaches are considered, applicants must demonstrate coordination between the organization and its communities.
Funding is provided through the Golf for Grants tournament held every June. Net proceeds from the tournament, which typically range from $30,000 to $40,000, fund the following year's grant cycle.
Reimbursements are issued once a project is completed and all activities covered by a grant agreement have concluded. EDC
Utah requires a written summary of project results demonstrating local economic development and measurable outcomes, alongside copies of all paid invoices and expenses, prior to payment.
Certain costs are ineligible for funding, including staff salaries, administrative costs, advertising, office rent, equipment rental or purchase, and conference travel or lodging. Additionally, project costs incurred before receiving written notification of approval are not eligible for reimbursement.
