A wind-driven wildfire spotted Wednesday evening on Promontory Point raced across more than 10,000 acres in little more than a day before firefighters stopped its growth and steadily increased containment through the weekend. The Brushy Canyon Fire was listed at 10,002 acres and 100% contained in a late Monday update to federal Wildland Fire Interagency Geospatial Services data.
