Utah Summer Games Announces 2027 Calendar

CEDAR CITY, Utah - The Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games, a Southern Utah University (SUU) event that serves as the official state games for Utah, announces its 2027 tentative schedule. The Games will feature 48 different events for competition, with the opening ceremony, presented by State Bank of Southern Utah, scheduled for Friday, June 4.

"We are excited to announce the schedule for our 2027 Program Year," said Jon Oglesby, Assistant Vice President, Sports and Destination Engagement at SUU. "Our 2027 calendar will continue to build on the momentum we have created in a variety of different sports over the past couple years, including creating new weekends of competition for existing sports to further the accessibility and impact of our programming."

Notable dates include:

March 19-20: Wrestling (Canyon View High School)

March 25-27: Figure Skating (Olympic Oval, Kearns)

May 21-22: Trapshooting; Slow Pitch Softball

April 8-10: Water Polo

June 3-5: High School Basketball; Youth Soccer; Fastpitch Softball (8U-14U)

June 7-8: 7-on-7 Football

June 10-12: Baseball

June 14-15: Girls' Flag Football

June 18-19: Fastpitch Softball (16U-18U)

June 25-26: Youth Basketball; Ultimate Frisbee

A variety of tennis events held in collaboration with the Utah Tennis Association will take place throughout July and August.

The Games will also host the Special Olympics Utah (SOUT) Summer Games on SUU campus May 20-22, with the SOUT Opening Ceremony scheduled for Thursday, May 20. A number of adaptive sports opportunities will also be announced for the 2027 program year.

Registration for the 2027 Larry H. Miller Utah Summer Games will open on Tuesday, Dec. 1 at utahsummergames.org, offering preferred pricing on select team sports for early registrations prior to Feb. 1.

In 2026, the Games welcomed 11,144 athletes representing 27 counties in Utah and 21 states. The event had an estimated economic impact of $13.5M on Iron County in June, according to Visit Cedar City/Brian Head, with final economic impact numbers for the 2026 program year to be released at a future date.
