The upcoming July Green Drinks event will feature discussions regarding renewable energy initiatives across Utah communities. Held at Deer Meadows Ranch in Oakley, the event is a free, bring-your-own food and drink picnic that requires registration.
Attendees are encouraged to consider carpooling for the event. Please note that the event is restricted to those aged 21 and older.
Emily Quinton from Summit County will present information on the Community Clean Energy Program. This initiative is a partnership involving Rocky Mountain Power and Utah Renewable Communities, aimed at creating a reliable and stable energy future for the state.
Scheduled to launch in early 2027, the program offers households and businesses in participating communities the option to support new utility-scale clean energy through their existing Rocky Mountain Power bills.
Additionally, Jennifer Eden from Utah Clean Energy will discuss the current status of solar energy opportunities in Utah. Her presentation will cover topics ranging from Utah Renewable Communities to rooftop solar, including the state's first-of-its-kind legislation that legalized plug-in solar.
The event is a picnic-style gathering where no food or drink will be provided. Participants are advised to bring their own chairs or blankets, as well as their own food and beverages.
