The Cedar City Council is scheduled to hold an action meeting on Sept. 23, 2026, at 5:30 p.m., according to a notice published Sept. 21. The meeting will take place in the Council Chambers at the City Office, located at 10 North Main Street in Cedar City, Utah.
The agenda for the upcoming meeting includes several administrative items and presentations. Scott Phillips is scheduled to discuss downtown harvest decorating and the installation of streetlights at 100 W Coal Creek and 200 W Coal Creek. Additionally, Dr. Courtney Flint and Paul Bittmenn will present the recent Utah Wellbeing Survey, while Val Shupe and Assistant Chief Jimmy Roden will provide a presentation regarding Police Department Re-Accreditation.
The council will consider several items for approval within the consent agenda. These include the minutes from Sept. 2 and Sept. 9, 2026, and the ratification of bills dated Sept. 10, 2026. The council will also consider appointing Pam Branin, Tim Marriott, Craig Corry, and Cleave Weaver to the Cedar City Cares Committee. Other consent items include the purchase of a roll off dumpster truck for $218,005 and the installation of a 4-way stop at the intersection of Cody Drive and Legacy Park Ave.
The action agenda features two resolutions for consideration. Terri Marsh will present a resolution regarding budget amendments for the 2026-2027 fiscal year, as well as a resolution to adopt the Cedar City Fund Balance and Reserve Policy. The meeting will conclude with a closed session regarding reasonably imminent litigation, presented by Randall McUne.
