Summit County Library and Park City Library have announced Go as a River by Shelley Read as the selection for the 2026 One Book One Community program.
The novel, which has won both the High Plains Book Award and the Reading the West Book Award, follows a coming-of-age story set within the landscape of Colorado.
The story centers on seventeen-year-old Victoria Nash, who manages her family's peach farm in Iola, Colorado. Her life is profoundly changed following a chance encounter with Wilson Moon, a young drifter with a mysterious past.
Inspired by true events involving the damming of the Gunnison River and the destruction of the town of Iola during the 1960s, the book explores themes of love, loss, and survival. The Denver Post has described the work as a literary triumph.
