The Utah Board of Higher Education will convene on July 17 to officially select and announce the next president for Utah Valley University. The meeting is set to begin at 10 a.m. in the Nu Skin Recital Hall located at the Noorda Center.
Community members are invited to attend the meeting in person or view the proceedings via livestream. For those attending in person, officials request that attendees arrive early for security screening and be seated no later than 9:50 a.m.
The presidential search process has progressed through several phases, including the appointment of a search committee in January 2026 and the gathering of community input during March 2026. The leadership profile for the role was finalized in April 2026 based on feedback from students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members.
The search committee has been reviewing highly qualified candidates and vetting semifinalists who align with the mission of Utah Valley University. While the committee will recommend three prioritized finalists to the Utah Board of Higher Education, the Board holds the authority to make the final selection.
The search process has maintained confidentiality regarding candidate names and committee deliberations as required by law. According to the search committee, this approach is intended to attract high-level leaders who might otherwise avoid public disclosure due to professional risks.
If the Board requires more time for discussion before reaching a final decision, the meeting may be reconvened at a later date, with any follow-up meetings being announced publicly.
