The Boston Bruins defeated the Utah Mammoth 6-1 in Boston on Thursday, Oct. 8, 2026, according to a report published Oct. 9, 2026. David Pastrnak recorded two goals and two assists to lead the Bruins to the victory.
The Bruins established an early lead, heading into the first period with a 3-0 advantage and extending that lead to 6-0 after the second period. Pastrnak scored his first goal of the season on a power-play wrist shot with 5:38 remaining in the first period, assisted by Frederic Brunet and Morgan Geekie. He added a second power-play goal via a slap shot 4:40 into the second period, with assists from Geekie and Hampus Lindholm.
Other goals for the Bruins were scored by Matthew Poitras, Casey Mittelstadt, Mason Lohrei, and Morgan Geekie. Boston also recorded three power-play goals while the Mammoth failed to score on their own power plays. Bruins goaltender Jeremy Swayman made 36 saves and blocked 23 shots during the game.
Jack McBain scored for the Mammoth midway through the third period to prevent a shutout. Karel Vejmelka made 11 saves on 14 shots before being replaced by Sebastian Cossa, who recorded five saves for the Mammoth.
The Utah Mammoth are scheduled to visit the Buffalo Sabres on Saturday night. The Boston Bruins will host the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday.
