The application period for the Spring 2025 Wasatch County Trails, Arts & Parks grants is officially open. This opportunity allows nonprofits, foundations, local organizations, and individuals to apply for funding intended to bring innovative projects to life in Wasatch County.
Online applications can be submitted through the county website at www.wasatchcounty.gov/tap. The deadline for all applications is Friday, Feb. 28.
A grant application workshop is scheduled for Monday, Jan. 13, at 5 p.m. at the Wasatch County Administration Building. This session will address grant requirements, eligibility criteria, and details regarding matching funds. Members of the Trails, Arts & Parks Tax Advisory Board will be in attendance to answer questions from potential applicants.
The process for selection involves the Trails, Arts & Parks Tax Advisory Board reviewing applications and providing funding recommendations to the Wasatch County Council in April. The announcement of grant recipients is expected to occur in May.
The funding originates from a 1/10 of a percent local sales and use tax that Wasatch County voters approved in 2022 to enhance local trails, arts, and parks. This TAP tax became effective in 2023.
In the fall of 2024, the first 13 project grants were awarded, totaling $285,151.
