A 64-year-old man died following a motorcycle collision Thursday morning in Ogden, according to a report published August 27.
The man was traveling north on a 2016 Harley-Davidson in the 1100 block of Washington Boulevard at approximately 6:10 a.m. when a southbound 2023 Honda Element turned left toward a parking lot and entered his path.
The motorcycle struck the Honda, which then came to rest against the front of a truck waiting to exit the parking lot onto Washington Boulevard, an Ogden City Police statement said.
The motorcyclist, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash, sustained fatal injuries. The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
The Weber Metro CRASH Team has been activated to investigate the circumstances of the collision. The identity of the rider is being withheld pending next-of-kin notification.
In a statement, the Ogden City Police Department expressed sadness over the loss of life and urged motorists to slow down, stay alert, and look twice for motorcycles, bicycles, pedestrians, and other vehicles.
