Bank of Utah and its team members were recently honored by the Ogden-Weber Chamber of Commerce for their contributions to the business community and local causes. During the chamber's 109th Annual Gala held on March 26, the organization presented several awards celebrating impact across Weber County.
Recognitions included the Milestone Award for 60 years of chamber membership, the Sue Westenskow Education Award, and a Volunteer of the Year nomination.
The Milestone Award honored Bank of Utah's six decades of partnership with the Ogden-Weber Chamber. The bank has supported various local initiatives, such as the annual golf tournament and the NuBiz Economic Forecast. Additionally, bank employees have participated in committees including Women in Business, Leadership Northern Utah, Legislative Affairs, Military Affairs, and Spikers.
George Hall, a member of Bank of Utah’s Board of Directors, and Mary Hall received the 2025 Sue Westenskow Education Award. The award recognizes their work supporting the Ogden and Weber school district foundations for nearly 30 years, an effort that impacts 45,000 students annually.
Cherie Hanson, who serves as senior vice president of Marketing and Communications at Bank of Utah, was named a finalist for Volunteer of the Year. Hanson holds positions on several boards, including the Ogden-Weber Chamber Board of Governors, YCC Family Crisis Center, Enable Utah, and the Ogden Rotary Club.
Bank of Utah CEO Ben Browning stated that the bank is proud to see team members recognized for their dedication to the community. He noted that as the bank approaches its 75th anniversary in banking next year, it remains grateful for the role of the chamber in their journey.
